Custom Throttle Controls

Do you have trouble using the throttle control lever, would a twist grip throttle make it easier to control ? ,(Magura 0-5K Twist Grip)

Cost of conversion is £65 and that includes the twist grip throttle.

Mouth operated Speed pot is £55 , it works by placing two small levers into your month and biting down to go forward, it works very well and is ideal for people with weak wrist and weak thumbs.

Foot control throttle (Left or Right) , so you no longer need to use throttle lever or wig wam as it sometimes called.

Cost of Conversion is £65 and includes the foot pedal.( awaiting stock of foot controls from USA so there will be a delay)

Mouth throttle Control is £100, Steering control by head movement is £200 plus depending on scooter, this allows people that have either no arms or very poor control of their arms to steer the mobility scooter. Please enquire as there are many different configurations.

If your scooter is a 4 mph or 6 mph model , depending on model of scooter, it is possible to speed them up to 8 mph by upgrading the motor controller and batteries however some models have either 40 amps batteries but a low power controller or a powerfull controller but low powered batteries.

Both controller and batteries can be upgraded for about £200, please ring for a more precise quote depending on model.

I had a Aquasoothe travelite to repair, the gearbox was faulty so I contacted the suppliers and they would not deal with me, only the customer, the words were "get the customer to contact me directly so we can sort something out, the customer in question then rang me up and explained what was offered, please be careful as it may appear to be discounted scooter however it still costing you a lot of money .
ProRider Scooters are 90% shoprider (parts) and I do rate Shoprider however the front suspension on some models can be off putting, very stringy so I have modified a number of these for my customers when out of warranty.

For those of you that look on eBay for spares , scooters etc..
AGM are not GEL so please fit only GEL batteries as recommended by the mobility scooter manufactures.

Throttle pots on eBay are mostly the incorrect type, they need too much movement to get the correct resistance and they don't last long..

Scooters again, extreme care required here when buying, yes you can get a bargain but beware there are lots of lemon scooters out there for sale, if it's sounds noisy check it out, is the gearbox badly worn. Make a video of the scooter running then call me, I'll let you know where the noise is coming from and so on.

The ride can be hard but they are so controllable, i suggest that you have the types at a slighly lower psi than recommended for a smoother ride.

They use a eGis controller that's also used by the Freerider Kensington another lovely fast scooter. With 55Amp fitted you can go for miles. Make sure the gearbox is well lubricated.

Latest experiment is , a self controlled scooter, so how does it work ?,well say you go to the shops crossing roads etc., You have to do this once in learn mode and once that completed the scooter will drive itself using GPS and various sensors for roads , people and animals on the pavement, The sonar sensors allow you to navigate around shops etc, the steering is controlled via a RAM device connected to the steering column, so who will need this ? well , blind people for a start, those with no arms or very weak, this gives independents to those who never experienced it before, so how safe is it ? well I used it for about 52 trips to date and not one incident , it always learning and can be overridden. Currently the system requires a laptop however I'm working on a embedded solution. So price wise I'm looking at about £600 and there will be restrictions on what scooters it can be installed on.

Please keep on a eye on your car battery as it would not be very funny if you have fully charged your scooter but flattened your car battery so you cannot get home..

Now it started to get very cold , here are some ideas to staying warm, Click & Heat pads they work very well and give off about 30 minutes heat, simply boil them to reactivate.
